History

The Miami Ultras were formed back in January 2008 by a couple of soccer fans that wanted to bring together other fans to support our local club Miami FC. These soccer fanatics also found out that they had a common interest of bringing Major League Soccer back to our area. The founding members of the Ultras were fans of the Miami Fusion and were devastated when the team was contracted. Those common interests of supporting our local club while yearning for the glory days of the Fusion’s return bonded these Ultras together to create  South Florida’s premiere soccer supporters club.

The Ultras have worked hand in hand with Miami FC to grow soccer in South Florida. The Ultras were also the main marketing arm for the Barcelona-Miami MLS bid, passing out flyers all around town. These crazy soccer fans even went so far to create the 24 Hour Soccer-Thon when Miami FC was in jeopardy of shutting down. They proved to the owners in Brazil that there were soccer fans in South Florida that cared about the team.

And today the Miami Ultras are still working closely with our club now known as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to spread the passion for the game we love all across the tri-county area. The Ultras are ready and willing to work to take the Strikers to the next level that is MLS, taking the same path that the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps and the Montreal Impact have taken.

Mission

Our mission is clear; THE ULTRAS want enthusiastic soccer fans who SUPPORT local pro soccer! We want people who will STAND and SING for the DURATION of the game, show their colors, bring original flags, give our team the home field advantage, and ENERGIZE the rest of the crowd! We want to make South Florida soccer games as fun as possible for everyone! If you feel up to this challenge, then THE ULTRAS are for you! The goal of  THE ULTRAS is to support the Fort Lauderdale Strikers while at the same time working towards bringing Major League Soccer back to South Florida.
